Privacy Policy — Solids
Effective date: July 28, 2026
Solids ("the App", "we", "us") is an iOS application that helps parents track the introduction of solid foods to their baby. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is protected.
The short version
All your data stays on your device. The App has no user accounts, no server, and makes no network connections of its own. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal information — because we never receive it in the first place.
1. Information you enter into the App
To use the App, you may enter information such as:
your child's name or nickname, date of birth, and an optional photo or avatar;
records of foods introduced, dates, and serving history;
notes about your child's wellbeing, including possible food reactions, and optional photos attached to notes;
your preferences and settings (language, theme, reminder times).
All of this information is stored only in the App's private storage on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. We have no access to it, no copy of it, and no ability to view, recover, or delete it on your behalf.
2. Information we do NOT collect
The App contains:
no user accounts or registration;
no analytics or tracking SDKs;
no advertising and no advertising identifiers;
no third-party code that receives your data;
no server communication — the App works fully offline.
We do not collect device identifiers, location data, contacts, usage statistics, or any other personal information.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
Optional paid features ("Solids Plus") are sold exclusively through Apple's App Store using Apple's own payment system (StoreKit). Your payment details are processed by Apple and are never visible to us. Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized statistics (such as the number of subscriptions), which contain no information identifying you. Apple's handling of your purchase data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your Apple ID settings; details and pricing are always shown in the App before any purchase.
4. Notifications
All reminders (new-food reminders, allergen rotation, daily tips, trial-period reminders) are local notifications scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to any push-notification service. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Widgets
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read a small data snapshot shared between the App and the widget within your device only (via Apple's App Group mechanism). This data never leaves your device.
6. Exports, sharing, and backups
The App lets you export your data (for example, a PDF report for your pediatrician or a JSON backup file). Exports happen only when you initiate them, and you choose where the exported file goes. Once you share an exported file outside the App, its further handling is under your control and is not covered by this Policy.
Your device may include the App's data in device backups (iCloud or computer backups) that you control through iOS. These backups are managed by Apple under Apple's privacy terms.
7. Children's privacy
The App is intended for use by adults (parents and caregivers). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from anyone else. Information about your child that you choose to enter is stored solely on your own device and is never transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time (see Section 9).
8. Health-related information
Notes you keep about foods and possible reactions are health-related information about your child. Like all other data in the App, they are stored only on your device and are never transmitted, analyzed remotely, or shared by us with anyone.
Please note: the App provides general educational information based on publicly available guidance (such as WHO complementary-feeding recommendations). The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your pediatrician regarding your child's health, nutrition, and any reactions.
9. Data retention and deletion
Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep it. You can:
delete individual records, notes, or child profiles inside the App;
erase all App data by deleting the App from your device.
Because we hold no copies, deletion on your device is complete and irreversible from our side.
10. Your privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws)
Under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Because the App stores all data locally on your device and we do not collect or process your personal data on any server, these rights are exercised directly by you within the App and your device — you always have full access to your data, can correct it, export it, and delete it at any time without contacting us. We do not sell personal information and have no data to disclose, share, or restrict.
If you believe we hold any personal data about you, or have any privacy question, contact us using the details below.
11. Security
Your data is protected by iOS's built-in security: App sandboxing and device encryption when your device is locked with a passcode. We recommend keeping a device passcode enabled and iOS up to date. Because the data never leaves your device, there is no server-side breach risk associated with the App.
12. Third-party services
The only third party involved in the App's operation is Apple Inc. (App Store distribution, payment processing, notifications infrastructure, device backups). We integrate no other third-party services.
13. Changes to this Policy
If we change how the App handles data (for example, if a future version adds optional cloud sync), we will update this Policy, revise the effective date above, and describe the change in the App's update notes before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
