Overview

Vakyt ("the app") is a prayer times application developed by Tursynbaev Shamil. We built Vakyt with a simple principle: your data belongs to you and stays on your device. The app does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

Data We Collect

None. Vakyt has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no servers of its own. We cannot see who you are, where you are, or how you use the app.

Location

With your permission, Vakyt uses your device's location to determine your city, calculate accurate prayer times and the qibla direction, and update the schedule automatically when you travel. All location processing happens entirely on your device. Your location is never transmitted to us or to any third party. If you grant "Always" access, it is used solely so the schedule, widgets, and notifications can update in the background when you change cities — again, entirely on-device. You may also decline location access and select a city manually; reverse geocoding of coordinates into a city name is performed by Apple's MapKit service under Apple's own privacy terms.

Notifications

Prayer notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No push servers are involved.

Apple Watch

If you use the Vakyt watch app, your settings (city, calculation method, language) are transferred directly between your iPhone and your Apple Watch using Apple's Watch Connectivity framework. This data never leaves your personal devices.

Data Storage

Your preferences (city, calculation method, language, notification settings) are stored locally on your device and, where applicable, in the app's private container shared with its widgets. Deleting the app deletes all of this data.

Children's Privacy

Vakyt does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this page with a new effective date. Since the app collects no data, changes are unlikely.
